learn to sup at Crawford state park
Our flat-water lessons take place at Crawford State Park. The park sits high upon a mesa above the north rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. You will enjoy every minute on Crawford Reservoir amidst rolling hills, surrounded by high peaks and iconic Needle Rock.
During this 2-hour lesson you will learn the basics of stand up paddle boarding including standing, the basic stroke, advanced strokes, bracing and turning. The calm environment and professional instructors will have you at ease on a board in no time. As in everything we do, the main intent is to have fun!
SUP lessons meet and Conclude at our shop in downtown Hotchkiss, Colorado. Crawford State Park is 15 minutes from our shop. Your instructor will drive you to and from the Park in our air-conditioned van. We can arrange to meet you at Crawford State Park if you prefer, however you will be required to pay the $9 per vehicle Colorado State Park entrance fee.
